Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said the country considers the accusations made by the European Parliament in a resolution against Iran to be a hasty and unconstructive act based on a distortion of existing facts, the evidence of which, unfortunately, is based on unfounded information.
“The accusations made by members of the European Parliament in the resolution against Iran are based on unfounded information and received from unauthorized sources and terrorist groups, some of which are terrorist in nature,” he said.
Confirming that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a democratic system, considers freedom of speech, peaceful protests and peaceful rallies as a natural and legal right of its citizens and always adheres to this, he added: “Like any other independent country, the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to ensure the national security of the country and the fight against armed gangs that take the lives of innocent civilians and deprive them of their property will fulfill its inalienable legal duties. ”
“What is the reason for the silence of the European Parliament and the lack of condemnation of US violations regarding the imposition of sanctions against more than 80 million Iranians?”
