Trump confirms trade agreement with China be signed soon

The US President Donald Trump on Saturday confirmed that a trade agreement with China, which the parties have been negotiating for more than a year, will be signed soon.

“We just made a breakthrough on a trade agreement and will sign it soon”, – Trump said in a speech in Florida.

According to him, “tough measures”, that is, the US taken with respect to goods from China, helped to achieve progress in the negotiations.

Earlier, the head of the US Treasury, Stephen Mnuchin, said that the first part of the trade agreement between the United States and China could be signed in early January. Prior to this, the countries managed to agree on the text of this first part, thereby canceling the next increase in mutual import duties, which was expected on December 15.
