Xi Jinping: Beijing will not allow other countries to interfere in Hong Kong and Macau affairs

No one from abroad will be able to dictate any rules, said the President of China.

China’s central government will never, under any pretext, allow other countries to interfere in the domestic politics of the two special administrative regions of the country, Hong Kong and Macao. This was announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.

“After these areas have been reunited with the homeland, all their affairs are related to the internal affairs of our country and no one from abroad will be able to dictate any rules”, –  he stressed in his speech on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Macao’s official entry into China.

“There is no way that external forces will interfere in Hong Kong and Macau affairs”, – said the President.

According to Xi Jinping, Macau has a great advantage, as this city seamlessly combines Eastern and Western cultures. “It promotes cultural and humanitarian ties and leads to the mutual penetration of cultures”, –  said the President of the People’s Republic of China.
