The United States does not have the right to sacrifice national interests in the Ukrainian direction in favor of Donald Trump.
This statement was made by Congressman from the US Democratic Party Adam Schiff, speaking at a debate on the issue of the removal of trump from the presidency.
According to him, it is unacceptable to ruin the built-up interaction with Kiev, because this is part of a large-scale anti-Russian campaign. As a result, it is unacceptable to ignore the actions of Trump in Ukraine.
“If we exclude the fuss and indignation of my colleagues who do not say anything specific, then one thing remains:“ Why should we worry about what the president has done to Ukraine? ”First of all, we must take care of our partners. We must also take care of Ukraine, a country that has become the way to fight for freedom and democracy, ”said the congressman.
At the same time, he emphasized that it was not about Ukrainian interests, but about American interests, because there was a strategic confrontation with Russia over the whole of Europe.
“Why do we need to take care of Ukraine? It’s not just Ukraine itself. It is about us and our national security. The fight in Ukraine is our fight, continued Schiff. “But if the president sacrifices interests, wanting to get a second term, he sacrifices our state in the name of his own benefit.”
