Mutual trust between Russia and China is indestructible, and the bilateral relations are “strong as a rock”, – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The conversation took place on December 18.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had discussed with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi the issues of bilateral and international agenda, including the interaction between Russia and China in the UN Security Council.
“Mutual trust between Russia and China is indestructible, while bilateral relations are as strong as a rock. Next year, there will be many important bilateral events, and the two ministries need to cooperate closely to prepare contacts between the leaders of the two countries”, – Wang Yi said, citing the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
He noted that the UN is the most important international platform for Russian-Chinese strategic cooperation and protection of international justice.
“The Chinese side is ready to continue to maintain close cooperation with Russia, provide mutual support and bear responsibility for maintaining international peace and stability”, – Wang Yi said.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lavrov, for his part, highly appreciated the progress made in Russian-Chinese relations, expressed readiness to continue to maintain close contacts at a high level, to deepen strategic cooperation in the UN and other multilateral formats. The Russian minister stressed that “no force can undermine the strategic trust between Russia and China.
