The speaker of the Council of the Republic specified that the development of the integration should take into account the national interests and should be strictly based on the principles set out in the treaty.
Belarus is ready to develop integration with Russia on the basis of the agreement on the creation of the Union State and with respect for national interests. This was stated by Chairman of the Council of the Republic (upper house) of the National Assembly Natalia Kochanova on Thursday, speaking at a parliamentary session.
“The position of the Belarusian side remains unchanged: the development of integration should take into account national interests and be strictly based on the principles laid down in the treaty. The main thing is equal conditions for business entities, equal access to markets without exceptions and restrictions”, – she said.
Kochanova says that “the Republic of Belarus is aimed at constructive cooperation <…> on equal terms in the dialogue with the Russian side. “This is the constant focus of the President of the Republic of Belarus <…> Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko”, – she said.
Kochanova reminded that the key international event, which the Council of the Republic holds jointly with the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, is the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. “Belarus will host the next forum, the seventh in a row. It is necessary to hold it at a high level”, – she stressed.
