DNR reported six ceasefire violations by the Ukrainian armed forces per day

Ukrainian security forces have broken the truce in Donbas six times in the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian security forces told reporters on Thursday at the office of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC).

On Wednesday, the Donetsk People’s Republic reported eight violations by Ukrainian security forces per day.

“Over the past 24 hours, the total number of violations by Ukrainian armed formations was six times,” the Donetsk People’s Republic representative to the JCCC said.

According to him, Ukrainian security forces fired grenade launchers, BMP weapons and small arms at the territory of the republic.

“The total number of ammunition used by the Ukrainian armed formations is 94”, –  the ministry’s representative added.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic and Donetsk People’s Republic, which declared independence after the coup d’état in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people became victims of the conflict. The issue of settling the situation in Donbas is being discussed, including during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the ceasefire agreements between the parties to the conflict, exchanges of fire continue.
