Dates for the Assange extradition hearing have been determined

London Court set the dates of the hearing in the case of extradition of the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, to the U.S.

The hearings will be held on January 14 and 23, while in February they will be held on the 7th and 24th. It is noted that the designated dates for the hearing in February may change.

Assange’s lawyers said they will be ready by the dates, adding that their client still has problems with access to the case.
The founder of WikiLeaks himself was not present, he was in video contact from Belmarsh prison, and reportedly looked cheerful.

Julian Assange was made famous for his material exposing U.S. illegal activities during military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. The journalist has released data on the killing of civilians in combat operations, as well as revealed the truth about the conditions in the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay.

Until April 2019, he had been in hiding for seven years at the Embassy of Ecuador in London, where he was detained on a warrant for failure to appear in court, as well as at the request of the Swedish and U.S. authorities.
On 1 May, Assange was sentenced to 11 months and two weeks in prison for violating bail conditions. After that, the U.S. authorities charged the founder of WikiLeaks with espionage and disclosure of classified information, for which he faces up to 175 years in prison.
