The car was blown up at 6:00 local time (4:30 Moscow time) near an American military base in the Bagram district of central Afghan province of Parwan, local media reported on Wednesday, citing Afghan military police chief Muhammad Mahfuz Valizad.
The explosion destroyed a part of the wall of the Bagram military base, isolated shots were heard, according to the information portal Ariana News.
According to eyewitnesses, civilians died as a result of the explosion, residential buildings near the military base were partially destroyed. The number of dead and injured is not specified.
None of the armed groups operating in the country have yet claimed responsibility for the attac.
