More than 800 refugees returned to Syria from abroad within 24 hours

More than 200 people returned from Lebanon to Syria in 24 hours, more than 600 more refugees came from Jordan, according to the newsletter of the Center for Reception, Distribution and Accommodation of Refugees, published on the page of the Russian Ministry of Defense on Facebook.


“Over the past 24 hours, 814 refugees have returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territories of foreign countries, including 208 people (women – 63, children – 106) from Lebanon through the checkpoints “Jaydet-Yabus”, “Tell Kalakh”, 606 people (women – 182, children – 309) from Jordan through the checkpoint “Nasib””, –  the text of the bulletin says.
It is noted that one refugee returned to his place of permanent residence within 24 hours.

It is added that the Syrian army’s engineering units have carried out demining tasks and facilities in Al-Harra, Jaseem (Deraa province) and Duma (Damascus province) within 24 hours. Specialists have cleared 2.3 hectares of land per day, and 31 explosive items have been discovered and destroyed.

The armed conflict in Syria has continued since 2011. In late 2017, the ISIS  terrorist group in Syria and Iraq was defeated. Militant cleansing continues in parts of the countries. At the moment, the focus is on a political settlement, the reconstruction of Syria, and the return of refugees.
