Beijing also confirmed the requirement for US diplomats to notify the Chinese Foreign Ministry of their intention to meet with the PRC regional authorities five working days before the meeting.
The PRC government has decided to introduce mirror restrictive measures against US diplomats working in the country. This was announced on Friday at a regular briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying.
“In response to the restrictions imposed by the US Department of State on Chinese diplomats that began to operate in October this year, China notified the US embassy in China that we will respond immediately”, – she said.
“The Chinese side called the representative of the US embassy in China 4 December and notified that from the same date these measures were introduced”, – she added.
