The decision at the NATO summit to record an alliance budget increase indicates the bloc’s desire to dominate not only in Europe but also in the Middle East, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters following a meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministers Council (CMFA) in Bratislava.
“The reckless expansion (NATO) continues, military infrastructure is rapidly shifting eastward, close to the Russian borders, there is a constant escalation of tension, constant accusations of the aggressive intentions of our country. And all this against the background of the fact that the summit ended in London decisions were made on a record further increase in the military budgets of NATO countries”, – Lavrov said.
“This is despite the fact that the current budgets are ten times, more than ten times higher than the military budget of the Russian Federation. The facts that are available speak completely about a simple, understandable situation for everyone – NATO wants to dominate the Euro-Atlantic, and if take NATO’s behavior in other regions of the world, in particular in the Middle East, then in the Middle East too”, – the Russian minister said.
