Kiev hurries events, planning elections in Donbass, declared in LPR

Kiev is in a hurry to plan events in the Donbass for 2020, Rodion Miroshnik, representative of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic in the political subgroup, told.

Earlier, the assistant to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, Andrey Yermak, during a speech in London, said that elections in the territory of Donbass not controlled by Kiev should be held simultaneously with local elections throughout Ukraine on October 31, 2020.

“In my opinion, Ermak is somewhat in a hurry to try to fuel the atmosphere before the” Norman summit “… First, you need to agree on the actual filling of the” special status “, the powers of deputies and leaders within it, and only then decide how to elect and whom to elect”, –  Miroshnik declared.

He emphasized that Kiev had not even started work on amendments to the law on the special status of Donbass and on the development of a whole range of laws and by-laws providing for the operation of a special status.

“Ukraine under Zelensky was already stepping on this rake when it assumed obligations to prepare a new law on special status or changes to it, discuss them, coordinate with representatives of the republics and adopt it. And all this until December 31, 2019. Now they barely have enough time just roll over the law on special status. Is it worth making some promises if you have not just a bunch of commitments, but Mount Everest obligations ?! ” – added Miroshnik.
