NATO will increase military spending – summit

The participants in the NATO summit in London announced their readiness to share both costs and responsibility for ensuring their “indivisible security”.

 

“Thanks to our commitment to defense investment, we are increasing this investment to meet the“ threshold ”of 2% and so that, as determined, 20% (of this spending) we invest in new opportunities and supplied more strength for missions and operations, “the statement said at a summit on Wednesday.
The document notes that NATO defense spending without the US has been increasing for five consecutive years. An additional amount of over $ 130 billion has been invested in defense.
“In accordance with our commitment, set out in Article 3 of the Washington Treaty, we continue to strengthen our individual and collective ability to resist any type of attack. We are making significant progress. We must, and we will do even more”, –  the heads of state and government said North Atlantic Alliance.
