Several dozen pro-Beijing demonstrators gathered in the morning at Chater Garden Public Park, where they sang the national anthem of China and then moved to the building of the US Consulate General in Hong Kong to protest the adoption of the Human Rights and Democracy in Hong Kong Act.
They trampled the American flag and burned the large cardboard “head” of US President Donald Trump, shouted slogans accusing Washington of interfering in China’s internal affairs.
A representative of the diplomatic mission came to the protesters, who was handed a petition demanding that Trump resign.
