Stoltenberg stands for dialogue with Russia, despite all the differences

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the need for dialogue with Russia, despite all the existing problems in the relations of the alliance and the Russian Federation.

“I really believe in the two-vector approach. I do not see a contradiction between confronting threats and dialogue with Russia”, –  Stoltenberg said, speaking in London on the eve of the summit of NATO leaders.

Russia calls on NATO to review existing relations, despite disagreements on a number of issues. This was said in an interview with the British Channel 4 on Monday by the Russian ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin. On the eve of the NATO summit, the head of the Russian diplomatic mission emphasized that the words about the threat posed by Russia are a kind of “fake”, since the Russian Federation does not even build up its military forces at the borders of Western countries. However, Moscow is closely monitoring and reacting to the actions of the North Atlantic Alliance.
