On the eve of the “Normandy” summit, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky personally drives himself into a “negotiating dead end”.
Such a statement was made by the representative of the LPR at the talks in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, commenting on the statement of the Ukrainian guarantor about the need to transfer control over the border between LDP and Russia to Kiev before the elections in the republics.
“Flirting with the radicals by voicing the preconditions for the implementation of paragraphs of the Minsk agreements, Zelensky himself drives himself into a negotiating impasse ahead of the summit of the Norman Four, the question of transferring the border becomes relevant only after a full political settlement”, – says Miroshnik.
He noted that local elections in LPR and DPR should be held on the basis of a new special election law, which must be adopted in agreement with representatives of the republics.
“The discussion of the election theme itself can only begin after the adoption and adoption of all amendments to the law on special status, which will regulate all the parameters and mechanisms for ensuring the functioning of a special status, which, in turn, must be enshrined in the Constitution. In addition, before the election, the issue of amnesty should be resolved and draft legislative and normative acts arising from the law on special status should be developed”, – the politician explained.
