Media: US reconnaissance aircraft flew in the area of the South Korean border with the DPRK

The U.S. Air Force plane made a reconnaissance flight near the inter-Korean border to collect information about the DPRK. This was reported on Monday by Yonhap.

According to reports, the Boeing RC-135W reconnaissance aircraft “performed missions over the Yellow Sea and the capital province of Gyeonggi-do”. Yonhap does not give other details.

The agency notes that the flight took place amid concerns that “North Korea might take on new military provocations”. Pyongyang tested a super-large-caliber multi-purpose rocket launcher last week. The launches were personally watched by the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un, who “expressed great satisfaction” with their results. On November 23, the North conducted artillery fire near the border with South Korea, which was also attended by the Head of state.
