Washington is concerned about Russian law on foreign agents

The White House is concerned about the law adopted in Russia. Which will allow recognition of foreign agents, even individuals. The official representative of the United States Department of State, Morgan Ortagus, wrote about this on his TWITTER page.

According to the representative of the State Department, such a quick approval of the law by the Russian parliament can only mean “suppression of independent votes.”

“We want to urge the Moscow authorities to fulfill their obligations to ensure freedom of opinion. Which was confirmed at a press conference by the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, ”wrote Morgan Ortagus.

On November 21, the State Duma of the Russian Federation passed a law allowing individuals to be granted the status of foreign agents. If an individual is recognized as a foreign agent, they will have to create a legal entity and mark the information distributed to them.
