Odessans celebrated the 123rd anniversary of the birth of Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K. Zhukov.
Despite the damp and frosty weather, about a hundred people gathered on the avenue that once bore his name.
Participants in the commemorative event condemned the decision to create a branch of the Institute of National Remembrance in Odessa, the main purpose of which is to fool students by instilling false information about the Great Patriotic War. The event was attended by retired Soviet Army officers, public figures, and journalists.
At the end of the memorial event, black and dark-orange balloons symbolizing the colors of the St. George ribbon rose into the air
