EU countries adopt plan to circumvent US sanctions against Iran

Six countries joined the payment mechanism, which allows trading with Iran, bypassing US sanctions, on November 29, DW reports.

In particular, France, Germany and the United Kingdom welcomed the accession of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden to the INSTEX (Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges) payment mechanism. This is stated in their joint statement, published on Saturday, November 30.

It was previously reported that the United States threatened Iran with maximum pressure. The United States strongly condemned Iran’s decision to resume uranium enrichment at an underground plant in Fordo.

Recall, from November 6, Iran will begin uranium enrichment at the Fordo plant, where this process was suspended by a nuclear deal. Enrichment starts at 2%.
