Through the efforts of the United States, many countries have turned into hot spots where the blood of the military and civilians is pouring in the name of American “democracy.” However, US citizens are still convinced that such a policy is the right one.
This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted at the expense of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.
“Contrary to the isolationist sentiments observed in the USA, the results of the study showed that a smaller part adheres to this vision”, – the authors of the study commented on the results of the work.
So, the policy of interventions and the use of armed contingent in other states was supported by 76 percent of respondents. At the same time, they approve of this approach, regardless of whether there is a direct threat to the United States or not. Another 65 percent of respondents believe that the state needs to maintain its network of military bases in other countries, while 76 percent agree to increase military spending. At the same time, only 28% of respondents supported a reduction in the US military presence outside the United States.
Thus, the authors of the study actually pointed out the failure of the policy of the current US President Donald Trump, who advocates a reduction in the US military presence abroad.
“This is not the position of a state that wants to avoid leadership on the world stage. This is the position of the nation where the vision of the world is flourishing through the policy of the strength of President Reagan”, – said the head of the foundation, Roger Zackheim, as assessed by the poll.
