Denmark’s permit for the construction of Nord Stream-2 in the territorial waters of the country comes into force on Thursday, the operator of the Nord Stream 2 AG gas pipeline can begin laying the Danish section.

“The deadline for filing an appeal ends on November 27, 2019 at 23.59. On November 28, the company can begin to act according to the permit if it has met the relevant conditions”, – the regulator said.
The Nord Stream 2 project involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany. The gas pipeline passes through territorial waters or exclusive economic zones of Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. At the same time, until November 27, the Danish Appeals Board adopted appeals against the decision on Nord Stream-2. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel announced intentions to take this opportunity. Last week, he said that in Kiev they could challenge the decision of the DEA, citing the environmental aspect.
Gazprom planned to complete the construction of Nord Stream-2 in 2019. In this case, according to the head of the company Alexei Miller, the laying of Denmark may take five weeks. However, in order to have time to complete the pipeline, Nord Stream 2 AG will have to meet a shorter deadline, even if construction starts on November 28th.
