In Japan, legislatively hit the American military presence

Armed forces in the United States continue to terrorize the people of Okinawa, Japan, and local authorities have been forced to pass some restrictions at the legislative level.

This was reported by Kyodo news agency.

According to media reports, the parliament of the southernmost Japanese prefecture banned the US Armed Forces from conducting airborne landing exercises, which were deployed directly above the densely populated area near the Kadena airbase. The decision was made unanimously. At the same time, the document quoted by the agency emphasizes that the actions of the American troops “seriously disturb the local population”.

The decision has already been conveyed to the American command in Japan, the US embassy, as well as the Japanese government.

It is worth noting that the American administration promised 23 years ago that this kind of maneuver would be carried out far from settlements, but all this time it actually ignored this condition. At the same time, the population of Okinawa has been struggling with the American presence on the island for quite some time. The fact is that on the island, which makes up only 0.3% of the area of Japan, 70% of all US military facilities located on the territory of the country are concentrated. This often leads to all sorts of tragic incidents, including the crash of US Air Force planes.
