Russian air defense systems tested on American fighter jets

The fourth-generation F-16 multi-role fighters manufactured in the USA became targets during trials of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems deployed in Turkey.

It is reported by the British edition of The Times.

Thus, fuzzy test frames appeared on Turkish television, during which the military tested the radars of the Russian systems delivered by Ankara as part of its military cooperation with Moscow. At the same time, it was the American fighters, which have been in the arsenal of the Turkish Air Force for more than thirty years, that became the training targets of the tests.

Ankara’s authorities have already warned residents of the capital that planes can fly low above ground.

As News Front previously reported, the US administration was extremely unhappy with Turkey’s decision to acquire Russian air defense systems. It is noteworthy that the deal was concluded after Washington refused to supply Ankara with American Patriot air defense systems.

Despite all the threats from the United States, the Turkish authorities did not refuse to buy Russian weapons. Deliveries began in July, and as early as April of the following year, the S-400 Triumph air defense systems will be operational.

In response to these actions, the United States has already excluded Turkey from the F-35 fighter production and purchase program, citing its decision that Russian systems can collect information about the technologies that are used on American aircraft.
