The US government requires Berlin to boycott China and not give licenses to build 5G networks because China is “stealing”.
To this, the German economy minister replied that Berlin had not boycotted the United States for mass wiretapping of phones, including the chancellor. Richard Grenelle, the US Ambassador, is furious:
“You have offended the thousands of American soldiers who defend your country”.
There are two conclusions: the Germans are not vindictive, but they have not forgotten the wiretapping, and China will receive 5G in Germany.
