Syrian army recaptures four villages in Idlib province from militants

The Syrian army over the past day recaptured four villages in the Idlib province in the north of the country from militants, reported on Monday the state television of Syria.

“Syrian army units regained control of the village of Umm Halahil in the southeast of Idlib province, causing substantial damage to terrorist groups … As a result of violent clashes, the army also regained control of the villages of Dahra-Zarzur and Sir”, –  the Syria TV channel reported with reference to Syria TV correspondent.

Over the past day, the military also recaptured the village of Musheirafa in the southeast of the province and took control of the agricultural areas adjacent to it, the channel said.

As a result of the operation carried out in August, the Syrian military managed to liberate significant territories in the north of the province of Hama and the south of Idlib, held by terrorists in some cases since 2014. The key moment was the liberation of the strategic city of Khan Sheikhun and access to the section of the international highway M5 Damascus-Aleppo.
