In Syria started eleventh Russian-Turkish patrol

The eleventh joint patrol of the Russian military police and the Turkish armed forces has begun work, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

“From 10.00 on November 25, the eleventh joint patrol of the Russian military police and the Turkish armed forces began work in the border area, located several tens of kilometers northeast of the village of El Kamyshly”, –  the statement said.

It is noted that joint patrolling is carried out along the route from the customs crossing point of the settlement of Deirun-Aga and passes east along the Syrian-Turkish border. It is reported that on the route the patrol inspects the situation in Syrian settlements.

The joint patrol includes eight units of military equipment – Tiger and BTR-80 armored vehicles of the Russian military police and Turkish armored vehicles Kirpi, as well as about 50 military personnel of both states. In addition, real-time monitoring of the situation along the route of the convoy is provided by the Orlan-10 drone of the Russian military police.
On October 22, Russia and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding of 10 points, in particular, on the introduction of units of the Russian military police and the Syrian border service on the Syrian side of the border with Turkey outside the Turkish Source of Peace zone. They will facilitate the withdrawal of Kurdish troops and their weapons 30 kilometers from the Syrian-Turkish border. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu previously said that the Kurds were withdrawn ahead of schedule. After this, a joint Russian-Turkish patrol began.
