Italian coast guard rescue 149 migrants from boat in distress near Lampedusa island

At night, the Coast Guard received an appeal about a certain citizen who reported a vessel with migrants who “experienced difficulties” about a mile from the shores of Lampedusa.

Shortly after the arrival of four rescue boats in place, the 10-meter boat rolled over. The number of migrants raised from the water was 149 people, including 3 children and 13 women. All of them were delivered to the port of Lampedusa.

“At the moment, no other people have been found in the sea,” the coast guard communiqué says. It is noted that all the fallen migrants were saved from the water.
