A joint Russian-Syrian counter-terrorist operation unfolded in Idlib

Over the past two days, Russian and Syrian aircraft have smashed the fortifications of the Khayyat Tahrir al-Sham  terrorist group in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

According to reports, during the operation in the area of ​​the city of Maarret-en-Nuuman in the central part of the province, more than a hundred air strikes were made. In particular, the attacks were carried out on artillery, mortar calculations by jihadists, as well as equipment that moved on sections of the highway between Maarret-en-Nuuman and Han Sheikhun, as well as Maarret-en-Nuuman and the city of Erich.

In addition, military clashes unfolded in the area of ​​the city of Umm al-Halahil in the south of Idlib province. There, units of the Syrian Arab army are trying to defeat the militant fortified area with support from the Russian Air Force. Also, several airstrikes were recorded near the city of Idlib.

According to information resources related to terrorists, the operation killed at least three dozen jihadists, including field commanders of the Khayyat Tahrir al-Sham group.
