Ambassador in Italy spoke about the new nature of anti-Russian sanctions

The constant increase in anti-Russian sanctions has already lost touch with the situation around Ukraine and has acquired “bad inertia”, while some EU countries, including Italy, are against increasing restrictions, said Russian Ambassador to Rome Sergei Razov on Thursday.

“The constant escalation of sanctions has lost any causal connection with what is happening in and around Ukraine. The sanctions have acquired inertia, self-sufficient character, extending to the ever wider sphere of pseudo-sanctions of Russia. Italian colleagues consistently oppose the automatic extension of sanctions. We are grateful them for this, not doubting the sincerity of the desire to remove restrictions on economic cooperation with Russia”, – Razov said in an interview with International Life magazine.
