Bolivian authorities refuse to leave a number of former ministers

The new authorities in Bolivia did not issue permission to leave the country to several former ministers of the government of Evo Morales so that they stayed and took part in a dialogue to resolve the situation in the country, the Razon newspaper reported with reference to the head of the apparatus of the interim president of Bolivia, Jerez Hustiniano.


Justiniano did not name either the names or the number of ministers in question. According to the publication, it is assumed that they should participate in a dialogue with the interim government of the country on behalf of the Morales MAS party.

“We believe that they (ministers who were denied exit from the country) Will be able to become full-fledged participants in the dialogue, and if they leave, with whom should we conduct it”, –  said Justiniano.
Earlier, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry promised to help 24 politicians from the party who announced the resignation of the country’s president Evo Morales MAS (“Movement to Socialism”) safely leave the country for Mexico.

Later it became known that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia issued a permit to Evalis Morales Alvarado, the daughter of ex-president Evo Morales, as well as to the deputy from the indigenous people, Maria Ponye, ​​who are currently taking refuge in the Mexican Embassy.
Morales won the presidential election on October 20 with a minimum margin, but the opposition announced massive violations. At first, Morales announced new elections, but then, under pressure from the military, he resigned and left the country. Following him, the entire top leadership of the country resigned, power passed to the opposition vice-speaker of the Senate, Janine Agnes. Proponents of Morales dispute the transfer of authority to Agnes and demand her resignation.
According to official information, since October 20 in Bolivia 23 people were killed in protests, 715 were injured, 624 were arrested.
