Burkina Fasone neutralized more than 30 terrorists during two operations in the northern regions of the country, one soldier was killed in clashes, the local Faso portal reports citing the release of the army of the West African state.
The text of the communique says that on Friday an army patrol was ambushed in the Titao department in the northern region of the country. Clashes between terrorists and the military lasted several hours.
“During these clashes, 24 terrorists were neutralized, and a variety of equipment was obtained. This operation also allowed the release of many women whom the terrorists held and used as sexual slaves. The unit soldier, unfortunately, lost his life during the clashes,” release.
After these clashes, the military received intelligence that allowed them to attack the enemy’s position on Saturday. The operation was carried out in the department of Burzang in the northern province of Bam.
“This operation allowed to neutralize eight terrorists, as well as to get a large number of weapons, ammunition and various equipment,” the military said.

According to the agency, for the entire period, nearly 700 people died as a result of attacks throughout the country. About 500 thousand inhabitants of a small African state were forced to leave their homes.
