In Hong Kong, police have called the death of a cleaner injured at protests a murder

Hong Kong police on Friday classified as killing a wounded head in an elderly man during a protest, which resulted in his death, the police said in a statement.

The Hong Kong Department of Food and Environmental Health said earlier that the outsourced 70-year-old janitor died in a hospital in the city after they struck his head with a heavy object during his lunch break.

The images distributed on the network show that a man is trying to take a hassle between protesters and local residents on the phone in the Sheung-Shui area, after which photos have already appeared where he is lying on the ground.
“On November 15, police reclassified the wounding case on November 13 into a murder case”, –  the statement said. The criminal department is investigating the case.

Mass protests provoked by the consideration of the extradition bill have been held in Hong Kong since early June, during which time the police detained more than 3.6 thousand people, the youngest of whom is 12 years old, more than 1.5 thousand people were hospitalized due to injuries on the streets, more than 400 policemen were injured. After large-scale protests, Hong Kong authorities made concessions, and in early October, the bill was completely withdrawn. Nevertheless, the protests did not stop, they became small, but more fierce.
