Morales accuses the USA of organizing the Bolivian coup

The ex-President criticized the decision of the Head of the United States to recognize the self-proclaimed government of the South American state.

The Former Bolivian President Evo Morales accused the United States of conspiring aimed at organizing the coup in Bolivia. He wrote about this on Twitter.

Morales said he condemned the decision of the US President Donald Trump to recognize the interim President of Bolivia, the second vice speaker of the Senators House, Janine Agnes, who declared herself the acting Head of state after the resignation of Morales.

“The coup that caused the death of my Bolivian brothers is a political and economic conspiracy coming from the United States”, – he said.

The protests in Bolivia began after the presidential election in October. The opposition did not recognize the victory of Evo Morales, demonstrations began on the streets. Later, police and the army began to side with the protesters.

Morales announced his resignation on November 10 and left the country two days later.

After his departure, the riots did not stop, the protesters continued to smash state institutions and attack officials. The clashes killed seven people, about 400 were injured.
