Hong Kong police use tear gas at Polytechnic university

On Thursday morning, Hong Kong police resorted to using tear gas against protesters at one of the entrances to the Polytechnic University, the South China Morning Post reported.


For the fourth consecutive day, Hong Kong has been experiencing a transport collapse, the demonstrators decided to change the tactics of protests and moved from thousands of marches to blocking roads, tunnels, bridges. Small groups of protesters are involved in this, but their actions have greatly affected the life of the city, people cannot get to work, classes at all kindergartens and schools, some colleges and universities are canceled on Thursday, lectures are held online.

The administration of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, after several days of violent clashes on its territory, decided to prematurely end the semester.

And if at China University the unrest subsided, although the protesters are still building barricades on its territory, then they are gaining strength at the Polytechnic University on Thursday, the police haven’t entered the campus yet, according to media reports, there are about 200 protesters waiting to meet them law enforcement officers prepared for the night “Molotov cocktails” and bricks. About 100 protesters, having broken into several groups, are guarding the entrances to the campus from the inside, on the other side of the gate they are already waiting for the police, but there has not yet been a clash.
