Russia intends to give additional momentum to cooperation with Argentina

Russia is determined to give additional momentum to cooperation with Argentina under the new government, everything is there for that, said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

Presidential elections were held in Argentina on October 27th. Oppositionist Alberto Fernandez scored the necessary number of votes to win in the first round, leaving behind the current president Mauricio Macri. The president-elect will take office on December 10.

“We are developing relations with the countries of Latin America, regardless of what colors the banners of various political parties are painted with”, –  Ryabkov said.
“Under President Macri, the movement was, it was in some ways even largely innovative, it opened up directions that had not been worked out before. What will happen under the new government depends on both sides. We are fully tuned to give additional dynamics. There are projects, there are suitable schemes for such work. I think that the movement will continue forward”, – the deputy minister said.

He also noted that the issue of who will go from Russia to the inauguration of the President of Argentina has not yet been resolved.

“We know that the elected president and the new government of this country as a whole assumes broad international participation at a solid level, we proceed from this, but so far I can’t make any concrete announcements on this subject. The issue is still being worked out”, – said Ryabkov.
