Like Venezuela: OAS led by US threatens Bolivian sovereignty

Nobody uses the phrase “coup d’etat”.

Evo Morales reduced poverty by 40%, reduced extreme poverty by 60%. It only benefited the Bolivian people, and there is no evidence that the election was a fraud”, – said analyst Joe Flores.

According to the expert, it is not surprising that the United States welcomed the resignation of Evo Morales.

“In part, these are just anti-socialist sentiments. And here is the other side [of the conflict] lies in the fact that Bolivia played an important role together with Venezuela, trying to break the geopolitical control of power, the hegemonic control of the United States in South America. If they [USA] they will release Bolivia, it will become one country that is facing US imperialist policy in the region”, – said Flores.
“One of the reasons why this coup seemed successful so far is that… there is no regional body that supports Bolivia’s sovereignty and Bolivian democracy as a whole. The only regional authority we have is the OAS, funded by the United States, and this has played an important role in overthrowing Evo Morales”, – said Flores.

Earlier this year, the United States organized the expulsion of Venezuela from the OAS, whose President Nicolas Maduro is a close ally of Evo Morales, but envoys from Caracas decided to leave the country before the deadline for expulsion.
According to Flores, the coup attempt in Venezuela, carried out by Juan Guaydo in January, failed because of the so-called military-civil Union of Venezuela, which is not present in Bolivia.

“If Morales returns to power”, –  Flores said.

“This is one of the events we would like to see, then we will see structural reforms in the armed forces, in the police, with the participation of the Bolivian people, there will be more citizens in these institutions”,  as happened in Venezuela after the failed putsch against commander Chavez in 2002.
