If the Serbian leadership demanded 15 billion euros from the European Union in exchange for Belgrade’s readiness to forgive Brussels for all his political mistakes, then the implementation of such conditions would be just as fantastic as Pristina’s “peaceful” proposal.
This statement was made by the President of Serbia, Alexander Vucic, commenting on the words of the head of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” Hashim Thaçi.
Earlier, a Kosovo politician, in negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron, proposed a “peace agreement”, which implies, inter alia, recognition of the independence of the quasi-state of Belgrade. Thaçi noted that the goal of Pristina is Euro-Atlantic integration and full membership in the UN.
Vučić, who also arrived in Paris, called the offer “fiction”.
“This is comparable to a scenario in which I would come and declare that I agree to a fantastic agreement with the European Union: he transfers us 15 billion euros, and we admit that over the past 18 years Europe has not committed any erroneous actions. According to him, we should be glad that they are ready to recognize us. Who are you going to admit? What are you speaking about? We are a recognized country at the UN. We don’t need your recognition”, – said the Serbian leader.
As News Front previously reported, Belgrade is actively working to reduce international recognition of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo”. So, on the eve it became known that the decision to recognize Kosovo’s independence was recalled by another country – Ghana. The Republic became the sixteenth state that has changed its attitude towards Kosovo over the past two years.
