While meetings are being held in the Moldovan parliament at which the fate of the Maya Sandu government is being decided, the Prime Minister’s associates staged a rally in front of the legislative building in her favor.
According to local media, by 10 a.m. local time several dozen demonstrators gathered at the parliament. Some of them were holding flags of Romania. They listened to Sandu’s speech, and chanted slogans in her support.
As News Front previously reported, the political crisis in Moldova arose against the background of Sandu’s decision to get the right to single-handedly nominate candidates for the post of Attorney General. Moreover, the decision was made bypassing the parliament and under the responsibility of the government. Thus, the introduction of “reform” could only be prevented by the dissolution of the cabinet.
