Taliban commander who killed local judges in Afghanistan is eliminated

The Afghan Air Force launched an airstrike on the positions of the militants and eliminated the Taliban commander of the radical movement, who killed the judges in Logar province, 1TV reported, citing a statement from the Defense Ministry.

On Thursday, Tolo News, citing the police, reported that four judges from the province of Paktia were killed in a Taliban attack in the province of Logar in Eastern Afghanistan. According to the channel, officials were heading from Paktia to Kabul. On their way back in the area of ​​Mohammad Agh, armed men attacked their car. At the same time, according to 1TV, there were three judges.

According to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, which the TV channel quotes, the Taliban commander Waisuddin was destroyed as a result of an air strike by the Air Force. Government forces launched an air strike in Mohammad Agha County – in the same place where the militants had previously killed the judges. In addition, three more militants were eliminated during the airstrike.

At the same time, the Khaama Press agency also, citing a statement by the Ministry of Defense, reports that the Air Force destroyed all four on Saturday evening. Authorities called the liquidated Vaisuddin “one of the key commanders of the group”.

In Afghanistan, there is a confrontation between government forces and the militants of the radical Taliban movement, which had previously captured a significant territory in rural areas of the country and launched an attack on large cities. The influence of the Islamic State terrorist group* has intensified throughout the country.
