US Armed Forces General accuses Russia of killing Americans in Mexico, justifying drug cartels

Over the past year, the death toll in Mexico amounted to 33 thousand people and exceeded the same figure in Syria, and the war of drug cartels in general led to about 300 thousand victims. Against this background, Washington does not make sense to react to the shooting of an American family with children, because this may be in the hands of strategic opponents of the United States.

This conclusion was made by retired colonel of the US Armed Forces Douglas McGregor, commenting on the Fox News channel on the killing in Mexico of an American family of nine, including women and children.

Against the backdrop of this tragedy, many in the United States began to call for the fight against terrorism not at the other end of the world — in the Middle East region — but at their own borders.

However, the colonel criticized such calls, and hastily explained his resonant position by the fact that Russia or another strategic adversary of the United States, among which he named Iran, China and even Turkey, could allegedly be behind this incident.

“First of all, it is necessary to analyze this incident. This is a serious turn. We killed … I mean, they killed nine people in a car, including children and women. This is not an accidental attack. It was well planned, with military precision. All were killed and even children a few months old. They were shot, and then burned in a car. Why do you need drug cartels? As I understand it, we are talking about Sinaloa [the largest Mexican cartel], ”says McGregor.

At the same time, he noted that in the past there were only isolated cases of abductions of Americans who came to Mexico. “In this regard, the first question: who really stands behind this? Can we prove that China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, or someone else cooperate with the cartel? They could say, “It’s time to scare the Americans,” he continues.

The general began to argue that someone wants to force Washington to open a “second front” in Mexico in order to “take away more resources and time” from the United States. In addition, he expressed confidence that the fight against drug cartels is impossible, because it can affect the situation inside the United States, including leading to armed clashes.
