It is believed that migrants drowned near the Spanish island of Lanzarote

The problem of migration is taking on increasingly terrifying momentum: almost every day there are reports of the death of people trying to illegally enter other countries. One of the last such sad events was the likely wreck of a boat off the coast of Spain.

Spanish authorities are looking for the bodies of migrants who allegedly drowned off the coast of Lanzarote on Wednesday morning. They were warned of what had happened after four men, presumably in an inverted boat, managed to swim to the shore.

The remains of the boat were quickly found on a rocky stretch of coastline on an island that lies west of the southeast coast of Morocco. Rescuers from the cities of Arrecife and Teguise began searching by boat and helicopter as soon as the remains of the boat were noticed by the villagers.

It is still not clear where exactly the boat departed. It is reported that the four survivors are of Maghrib origin.

If we recall a ship sunk off the coast of Lampedusa with 50 people, only 22 of whom were rescued, we can conclude that the EU authorities should tackle this issue more closely, since it is unlikely that the number of attempts to illegally transport migrants to the territory of EU-owned countries will decrease, and accordingly , we are talking about an increase in deaths.
