“Cynical step.” Two countries did not support UN resolution against Nazism

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution prepared by the Russian Federation against the glorification of Nazism, Ukraine and the United States were against it.

The third committee of the UN General Assembly on social and humanitarian issues adopted by majority vote the Russian draft resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism.

The resolution recommends that countries take concrete measures “to prevent the review of the outcome of World War II and the denial of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during the Second World War”.
121 states voted for the document, 55 countries abstained. There were also those who opposed – this is the United States and Ukraine.
