Ankara reported that the Russian Federation and Turkey are conducting a third patrol in northern Syria

According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the military units of the two countries participate in patrolling and drones are used.

Russia and Turkey embarked on a third joint ground patrol in northeast Syria on Friday. This was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.

“As part of the agreement reached with the Russian Federation in Sochi on October 22, 2019, in the region between the [settlements] Kamyshly and Al-Malikiya east of the [river] Euphrates, the third ground patrol began with the participation of military units of Turkey and Russia with the participation of drones” , – noted in the communiqué of the defense department.

On October 22, the Russian Federation and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding of 10 points, in particular, on the introduction of units of the Russian military police and the Syrian border service on the Syrian side of the border with Turkey outside the Turkish Source of Peace zone. They will facilitate the withdrawal of Kurdish troops and their weapons 30 km from the Syrian-Turkish border.

The first joint patrol took place on November 1 in the area of ​​Kamyshly, and the second on November 5 in the area of ​​Ain al-Arab.
