Moscow condemns terrorist attack in Burkina Faso

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the terroristic act committed by extremists in Burkina Faso, where on Wednesday 37 people died and more than 60 were injured with various degrees of severity, according to the commentary of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

“We strongly condemn this not the first terroristic act committed by extremist forces on the territory of Burkina Faso. We are sure that the local competent authorities will take all the necessary measures to ensure that the organizers and perpetrators of this barbaric crime were identified and punished. We express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the victims”, – the statement said.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on November 6, a group of militants carried out an armed attack on a convoy escorting Burkinabé workers of the SEMAFO mining company near Bungu in eastern Burkina Faso. According to preliminary data, 37 people died and more than 60 people were injured with various degrees of severity. Burkinabé law enforcement agencies are looking for the perpetrators and establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
