US Chargé d’Affaires to Ukraine Bill Taylor will be the first witness summoned at a public hearing on the impeachment of Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, November 6, Taylor’s testimony was published by the U.S. House of Representatives, confirming that the Trump administration threatened to refuse military assistance to Ukraine if it did not agree to investigate Trump’s rival, Joe Biden, a Democratic candidate.
According to Taylor, two State Department officials announced Trump’s refusal to “sign a check” for nearly $ 400 million in military assistance to Ukraine until Ukrainian officials announce an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden. Taylor also told Congress committee that Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has actively advocated forcing Ukraine to announce the Biden investigation.
