Trump’s business in Ukraine becomes known

The company considered at least two projects in Ukrainian territory: a hotel with a golf club and a yacht club on the sea coast of Yalta.

In 2006, Donald Trump Jr., together with his sister Ivanka, wanted to open a hotel and a golf club in Ukraine, Politico writes.

The Trump family planned to build a network of exquisite resorts in post-Soviet countries. And Ukraine seemed to them very promising.

As part of its initial initiatives, the Trump Organization attracted developers Dmitry Buryak and Felix Sater. They both had business interests in Russia.

The company considered at least two projects in Ukrainian territory: a hotel with a golf club and a yacht club on the sea coast of Yalta, which is now under Russian occupation. The Ukrainian government gave Trump Organization the right to build in both cities. It is not known why none of the projects was implemented.

In 2005, the Minister of Transport of Ukraine Yevgeny Chervonenko said that Trump is going to invest about $ 500 million. But other reports indicate that the Trump Organization planned to sell its brand franchise and receive payments from any Ukrainian project instead of owning real estate. The company has used this model in many parts of the world. Many in Ukraine welcomed the intentions of the Trump family.

“Experts say that the interest of people like Donald Trump in the Ukrainian market is a great advantage for our country. It is a kind of official recognition by world institutions that Ukrainian real estate deserves financing,” wrote in 2008.

Trump Organization worked with Buryak. He managed the company DeVision, which called itself one of the largest in the real estate market in Ukraine. Buryak was also vice president of Petrochemical Holding, which owned DeVision.

Recall, Trump was called the priorities in politics in Ukraine.

It was also reported that Trump is inferior to the three Democratic politicians in the ranking.
