China intends to further facilitate access to its market for foreign investment and improve the country’s business climate to create favorable conditions for foreign companies to work in China, said Xi Jinping, President of China, at the opening of the Second China International Import Goods Exhibition (CIIE) on Tuesday.
“China will continue to improve the business environment based on market rules and laws, we will continue to facilitate access to our foreign capital market, reduce the negative list of foreign companies, stimulate investment, and improve the protection of intellectual property rights”, – said the Chinese leader.
He noted that China will continue to actively increase imports of foreign goods and services, as well as reduce duties and various costs.
The Second China International Import Goods Exhibition (CIIE) opened in Shanghai on Tuesday and runs through November 10th. Russia was among the 15 countries that became honorary guests of the upcoming exhibition. The Chinese side invited representatives of business circles, various organizations, officials and more than 3 thousand companies from 170 countries and regions of the world to take part in the exhibition and related events. At the same time, 64 countries, including China, will participate in the EXPO with national pavilions.
The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the People’s Government of Shanghai with the support of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
