Iran ten times increased uranium production in two months

Iran, which is reducing its nuclear obligations after the US withdrawal from the atom deal, has more than doubled its uranium production in the past two months.

“The production of uranium before the third step (to reduce nuclear obligations) was about 450 grams per day, now surpassed 5 thousand grams per day”, –  said the head of the atomic energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi.

His words are transmitted by Iranian television.

His statement came ahead of the next, fourth phase of the reduction of nuclear obligations, which is expected this week.

While at the Natanz nuclear facility, he also reported the launch of 30 IR-6 centrifuges, noting that 20 more had previously been installed, thus bringing the total number of centrifuges of this type to 60.
